Official Rules of the Virtual Fashion Look Competition


  1. These terms and conditions together with any specific instructions on H&M´s Competition website www.hm.com/virtual_fashion_competition (“Competition Website”), are the rules of the competition (“Rules”) and apply to the virtual fashion look competition (“Competition”) by H & M Hennes & Mauritz GBC AB, 556070-1715, SE-106 38 Stockholm, Sweden (“H&M”). By filling out the form and creating a name for one look on the campaign site (“Entry”), each entrant (“you”) enter the Competition and agree to be bound by these Rules and H&M’s Privacy Policy. The Competition commences 09:00am CET on 2022/01/10 and closes at 00.00pm CET on 2022/01/31. The three winners will be announced on the Competition Website no later than 2022/02/07.

  2. H&M may, acting reasonably and at its sole discretion, apply, interpret, terminate, alter, limit, suspend or modify the Rules at any time, without notice. Any changes will be posted either within these terms and conditions or on our Competition website. The most recent terms and conditions will always be posted on our Competition website.

  3. In the event of any dispute regarding the Rules or the results and all other matters relating to the Competition, the decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Qualifying Entrants  

  1. Employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives of H&M, or any of its affiliated companies within the H&M Group, are not eligible to enter the Competition. H&M reserves the right not to award a prize (and to select an alternative winner) if H&M is aware or has reasonable grounds to believe that a winner is not eligible.
  2. The Competition is open to persons 18 years old when entering the Competition, or 16 years old if you have the consent of a parent, guardian, or legal representative as applicable, with a residential address in the US, India, Germany, France, UK or Japan. If you are aged under 18 years, H&M assumes (and you warrant) that your parents have given their consent to you entering the Competition and accepting these Rules.
  3. You are not entitled to enter the Competition if you are resident in a country or jurisdiction where the Competition may breach any law or regulation. Where this applies, H&M’s invitation to enter the Competition in such country and/or jurisdiction is withdrawn.
  4. H&M reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all entrants. H&M also reserves the right to disqualify and remove any entries based on suspicion of infringement of any third party rights or if H&M has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of the Rules.

Competition Entries

  1. By filling out the form and creating a name for one look on the Competition Website you enter our Competition.
  2. Only Entries submitted via the form on the Competition Website by the Competition’s closing date and time, are accepted.
  3. By entering the Competition, you hereby warrant that all information submitted by you is true, current and complete. You also warrant that you own all rights in and to your Entry and that you have permission from any person/s appearing in your Entry.
  4. There is no purchase requirement to enter the Competition.
  5. Multiple Entries are not accepted. The Entry may only concern one look.
  6. H&M has the right to, at its sole discretion, immediately remove any material deemed offensive.


  1. Entries will be judged by representatives at H&M in the Virtual Fashion Look Competition team (“Judges”). Entries will be judged on creativity, inspiration and originality. The Competition is a game of skills and chance plays no part in the selection of the winner.
  2. Three winners will be chosen by the Judges (the “Winners”, each a “Winner”).


  1. Each Winner wins one virtual and animated look, (the “Prize”).
  2. The Prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be redeemed for cash. For the avoidance of doubt, the Prize cannot be returned nor exchanged in any of H&M’s stores or online.
  3. The Prize is awarded at H&M’s discretion and no prize will be awarded as a result of improper actions by or on behalf of any entrant. H&M, acting reasonably, reserves the right not to select a winner.
  4. Each Winner will be notified via email. The Winners needs to claim the Prize and submit additional information (send in a photo that the virtual look will be dressed in) within three days of receiving the notification on email. Return of any prize notification as undeliverable, failure to claim the Prize within this time or failure to submit additional information may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.
  5. After each Winner have submitted the additional information required, the Prize will be delivered to each Winner via e-mail.
  6. H&M cannot be held responsible for any costs associated with winning the Prize, else than what is specified in the Rules. If costs such as taxes or loss of income would arise as a result of winning the Competition, they shall be covered by you.

Intellectual Property Rights & Use of Entries

  1. You specifically grant H&M a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to moderate and use your Entry on any of H&M’s marketing channels.
  2. By entering the Competition and accepting the Rules, you agree that H&M may use your personal details for the purpose of conducting the Competition, including but not limited to contacting you via email if you are a Winner, and publishing your first name, country and Entry on the Competition Website if you are a Winner. H&M will not add the Winner or any entrants to our mailing list.

Limitation of Liability

  1. H&M will not be liable for any system failure or malfunction of the Competition Website or any consequences thereof.
  2. H&M accepts no liability for any loss, damages or disappointment arising from entering the Competition or in any other way relating to the Competition, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.


  1. The Competition and Rules will be governed by Swedish law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sweden. If you access the Competition outside of Sweden, you are responsible for compliance with all local laws.
