BRINGING IMAGINATION TO LIFE WITH LALELA PROJECT

Our latest collection is a collaboration with Lalela Project, a South African art program sparking creativity in the local youth community. Lalela Project aims to encourage and grow kids’ entrepreneurship and goals to imagine a brighter future for themselves and their communities. Role Model Bontle wears the collection that features artwork by Lalela students imagining their greatest adventure, inspired by Bontle’s book series. Real change starts when art comes to life. The Role Models collection is available from 24 September at Centurion, Pretoria and from 26 September at Canal Walk, Cape Town. All proceeds from the collection go to Lalela Project.

Role Models

Role Models is an initiative created by H&M to enable and elevate kids working on making the world a better place. Recognising kids and their creative minds as a true force of change, Role Models aims to empower kids to tell their stories, inspire others, and provide them with access to resources for bigger and more long-lasting impact.

Kids as a force of change

Kids are the future, and at H&M, we believe that kids should be able to impact how that future should look. We trust their ability to make a change, and we aim to use our influence and resources to help kids turn their positive ambitions into reality.

A digital experience for changemakers

Although kids have proven to make change happen, we could all use a helping hand to make our visions come to life. Children’s rights advocacy organization KidsRights launched the State of Youth program in 2019 to empower and unite kids between 13 and 24 years old. The program is built to help kids engage in local issues by spreading information, increasing awareness, and building advocacy and action around pressing issues that directly affect them. The idea is to create impact and give kids the tools to drive change themselves.
